Banana Bread Recipe
This weekend is my cousin's play. A lot of family is coming to see her as one of the Lost Boys in the British version of Peter Pan! I decided that it would be nice to have a couple of treats around the house for the guests to pick on. I made my Tita Susan's infamous banana bread. The recipe is as follows:
- 2 /12 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups mashed bananas (about 4 ripe bananas)
- 4 eggs slightly beaten
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup raisins (optional)
~Mix all dry ingredients together, add remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly. Divide into loaf pans. Bake 65-70 minutes at 350 or until toothpick comes out clean.
*I had to use about 3 loaf pans (I bought a pack of disposable ones, it doesn't matter what size you use.)...one loaf was a little bit smaller and cooked faster than the others (OBV). I sprinkled extra walnuts on the top before baking for an extra crunch!

Huntington Library
This past NYE, I spent the day at Huntington Library in San Marino, CA. It's a botanical garden and museum type of thing. You can either go explore outside and check out the unique plant life or head inside and browse the artwork. Huntington Library features a Japanese garden (it's currently closed :(, but it's reopening in the spring), a rose garden, a conservatory and much more! I definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area!
